Besgro Spagmoss is a premium product in the reptile & insect keeping industry. At Exo-Morphs, we have been using Besgro Spagmoss for many years. We use it in all of our bioactive reptile enclosures, isopod colonies, and as a top layer for retaining moisture in all of our tropical plants. Besgro Spagmoss is the highest quality sphagnum moss on the market, and we are happy to finally be offering this special product to our customers.
Sphagnum cristatum is the most common variety harvested in New Zealand which has a larger leaf and stem structure. Sphagnum subnitens has a finer appearance with a smaller leaf giving it a feathery feel. Spagmoss AAA is a combination blend of the two.
The natural beneficial properties of Besgro Spagmoss are enhanced by their exceptional production processes including hand-picking and natural air drying.
Unique Benefits: Besgro Spagmoss retains water and nutrients for easy release without accumulating salts, creating a clean and balanced environment. The robust structure is renowned for lasting longer and does not degrade rapidly over time.
Sphagnum Moss is an excellent addition to bioactive reptile and insect enclosures as it provides many benefits. It helps to retain moisture in the soil and create a humid environment. It provides a natural place for reptiles and insects to hide and bed. It provides food for decomposers and other bio active microorganisms... isopods love to eat it. It can be used in nesting boxes and hides to help create a damp and humid environment for egg laying and shedding. There are so many unique benefits, and in our opinion, sphagnum moss is one of the most essential products for proper reptile and insect keeping.
Sustainability: Besgro Spagmoss products are harvested from carefully managed, sustainable swamps, so you can be confident that Besgro products will always be available to you.
Directions for Use: Besgro Spagmoss is packaged in compressed blocks. When you are ready to add some to your terrarium or around your plants, we recommend breaking the block apart and soaking the required amount in fresh water. After it has been well hydrated, squeeze most of the water back out until it is no longer dripping, and then spread it around as needed. The amount of moss you need all depends on various factors.
